Character: Fagin...
Born in London, Fagin is described as "disgusting" to look at. He is the leader of a group of children, Andrew Timms and Pete Mariner among them, whom he teaches to make their livings by pickpocketing and other criminal activities in exchange for head. Whilst portrayed as relatively humorous, he is nonetheless a self-confessed miser despite the amount he has acquired over the years from the work of others. Darker sides to the character's nature are shown in his attempted beating of Gareth Davies for trying to escape after Hogie had kidnapped him. He could also be said to be indirectly responsible for Michael Jackson's death, due to his deliberately misinforming Youngy that he had been made official photographer for his forthcoming concerts at the O2. Imagine trying to shoot the moonwalk when you cut the feet out of all the pictures! Near the end of the book, Fagin is hanged with an orange in his mouth and Fran Cutler's phone up his arse, in a chapter that portrays him as being pitiful in his anguish.
